Our classroom is buzzing with readers these days. We spent the week working hard on building our reading stamina. Our class of 24 students can now read uninterrupted for 16 minutes! That is an amazing accomplishment for the second week of school. We also spent time learning more about the genres that we will enjoy this year during our "Book Tasting". Ask your child all about it.
Coming home with your child today is their Friday Notebook. Each Friday your child will be writing you a letter about their week. Please read the green letter inside of their notebook from me describing the purpose and expectations for these letters. Then please enjoy what your child wrote for this week. It will be fun to see these letters develop over the year as their writing improves. Don't forget to write them back! :) if you can't read their spelling, have them read it to you...spelling isn't the focus in these letters!
Join us tomorrow for the Brian Power Walk-Run starting at Trojan Field at 7:30 in the morning! For more information, visit: http://www.npaschools.org/foundation
Attached is our peek at next week. Spelling will begin next week and their words are on the newsletter. Hang on to this to practice from throughout the week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
